Presenting the biographies of ancient Egyptian coffins in Swiss museums

The burial equipment in Swiss museums will be published in several volumes between 2025 and 2028 in the “SCP Publications” series. The main language is English; abstracts of all chapters are also provided in Arabic, German, French and Italian.

The volumes will be released as digital publications on the SCP website, available for free download as PDF documents. It will also be possible to purchase each volume in print.

The first volume of the “SCP Publications” series is dedicated to the coffins from the Cache-tomb of Bab el-Gasus in Western Thebes (21st Dynasty, c. 1070-945 BC), which were donated to the Swiss Federal Council by the Egyptian Khedive Abbas Hilmi II in 1893 and are now in the museums of Appenzell, Bern, Geneva and Neuchâtel. It will be published at the end of 2025.
